Governing Board of the Mandatory Health Care Insurance Fund

The Fund is governed by the Governing Board, which serves as its highest decision-making body.

The Governing Board reports to the Government through the Minister responsible for Health.

The Governing Board consists of five (5) members:

  • The Minister responsible for Health or his/her representative – Chairperson;
  • An expert representative of the Ministry of Health – Member;
  • The Minister responsible for Finance or his/her representative – Member;
  • An expert representative of the Minister responsible for Finance – Member;
  • The Minister responsible for Local Government or his/her representative – Member.

The Director of the Fund participates in the meetings of the Governing Board, unless the Governing Board decides otherwise, and does not have voting rights.

The Secretariat of the Governing Board is appointed by the Governing Board.

The Governing Board may engage national and international experts to support its work on specific issues.

Members of the Governing Board are appointed by a Government decision based on the proposal of the Minister responsible for Health, in accordance with paragraph 3 of this Article, and are compensated in accordance with the applicable legislation.

The Governing Board is chaired by the Minister responsible for Health or his/her designated representative.
